TURD take on Unemployment Benefits

There was on article on MSN this morning that discussed people who are collecting unemployment but not taking jobs because they make more getting unemployment benefits than they would if they took a lower paying job. I am unable to fault those that are trying to provide for themselves and their families, and one of the requirements for collecting unemployment is that the benefits will stop if the individual stops actively searching for employment. This means that they are looking for work, but in most states they aren't required to take a job that pays less than their unemployment benefits. Truly Unhappy Republicans and Democrats believe there is a simple solution to this issue. Are you ready for this amazing idea? How about we just pay the difference? How much money would be saved at the state and federal level? TURD is not quite sure, but considering that most jobs available right now are part time or low wage, it seems that it would save at least 20%. If you have any thoughts please let me know....and once again, sometimes the solution isn't as complicated as the parties in power would have us believe.
